The balinese is a long haired breed of domestic cat with siamese style point coloration and sapphire blue eyes.

The balinese cat breed raises images of idyllic paradise islands but it in fact originated in the united states. Seal point seal point is the most traditional of the point colors and the first cats coming in from thailand were all seal pointed. The balinese walks on small dainty oval paws and swishes a long plumed tail that tapers to a fine point. The balinese comes in the same point colors as the siamese.

The balinese cat breed consists of the following color points. The balinese is also known as the purebred long haired siamese since it originated as a natural mutation of that breed and hence is essentially the same cat with a medium length silky coat and a distinctively plumed tail. There are four recognized color points in the balinese breed. It is longest on the plumed tail.

Like the colorpoint shorthair the javanese has point coloration with a pale body and darker face and extremities but is permitted to have coat colors and patterns not found in the balinese or siamese. The main body of the coat is usually a creamy white but they have distinctive color points that are found on the face ears full tail and legs. I will describe the color points and show pictures of them as examples. However over the years those numbers have dwindled down to four with most registries and those four color points are seal point chocolate point blue point and lilac point.
